CBSE bans coaching for JEE, schools look to dodge rule

Schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will have to stop conducting courses that integrate the regular syllabus and coaching for competitive exams like the Joint Entrance Examination for admission to the IITs, the board has said.

In a circular criticizing schools for commercializing education, CBSE directed principals of all institutions affiliated to the board to immediately stop offering such coaching programmes as part of the regular workday or otherwise.

"It has been reported that some of the schools are running coaching institutions on the school premises under the pretext of providing preparations for entrance examinations. This is not approved by the board and schools need to stop such malpractices immediately," said the CBSE circular from CBSE secretary Joseph Immanuel to principals. It said the board is liable to take "appropriate action" against schools that do not adhere to conditions stipulated in CBSE's affiliation bylaws.

The Most Brilliant Students of Kota Ever

Anuj Nagpal(AIR 190):  This guy was the most intelligent person I ever met. In hostel, he was one of the most fun loving guys, he only used to do the assignments of mathematics (only because it was taught to us by the director of the coaching). Though I was not in his hostel but my closest friends were in his hostel and used to tell me all the stuff they did at night. Late night chats, discussion about random things (which had no relation with JEE at all). There was a time when all feared Nagpal and used to say "Nagpal is gonna come and he is going to spoil our full night." KOTA MMS SCANDAL: Black day for student in kota

A railway guard, who had created a fake Facebook account, befriended a female and later raped her inside a hotel room in Rajasthan’s Kota district. He also shot her obscene video clip. The victim then lodged a complaint in Bheemgnajmandi police station.   The accused was soon arrested. It was also  revealed that the accused had checked in at the  hotel   using a fake name and address, and the hotel manager was charged with negligent behavior and arrested. Police said, the 21-year old B.com final year student had befriended Ravinder Singh on Facebook. Both had been in contact for the last two  months. Ravinder called her to meet at Shubham Hotel where the student met Inderpal Singh. The victim was then told that Ravinder had been arrested by police. Inderpal then locked the room and raped the victim. He also shot her video. After leaving the hotel, the victim reported the incident to the police after which Room no. 30 of Shubham Hotel was checked....
