Kota Topper Story: Shitikanth IIT JEE 2008 Topper

I gave JEE in 2009 and used to hear about this "topper" guy from the 2nd floor of my hostel. Topper of A1. I didn't pay too much attention.
Then one day after my dinner my friends asked me if I noticed who was sitting next to me during the meal. I said no. They said it was the same guy. I didn't care much there either.

I saw him for the first time in a cricket field. The lean stick-figure boy who didn't speak much. He had a ball in his hand and a single electric pole was being used as the wicket. I was fielding. I saw him bowl and all my senses absorbed after that was the clattering sound of the ball on the pole.



That's when I was introduced Sitikanth. And the stories began!

Once during class, V K Bansal (THE BANSAL of Bansal Classes) told us a story of when 2 weeks before JEE Sitikanth came to him, dejected and confused. Saying he had nothing to do. Bansal Sir gave him the toughest integration problems he had, thinking this should be enough to keep him at bay for a day or two. 2 hours later Sitikanth returned.
Bansal Sir - What happened? You need help with any of the problems?
Sitikanth - No Sir I solved them all. Here're the solutions

There was another maths teacher PJ. A boy in his XII class was asking too many questions. At the end of the class PJ called him and asked him if he was from a different batch.
Boy - Sir, I'm from P1
PJ - But this is A1! Who told you to attend XIIth classes when you are in XI. Show me your copy
Amazingly, Sitikanth showed him the homework copy in which all questions had been neatly solved

And finally, straight from the horses mouth
I and a friend of mine did not understand a particular Maxwell equation i Chemistry. We summoned up the courage to go to the most intelligent boy in the hostel. We knocked on the door. It opened. We saw spilled water which neither of us questioned about. He asked us what the matter was. We told him. He asked us to sit.
What followed in the next hour was the most amazing explanation of the equation. For the first time in my life I saw 4D graphs and heard of something called Thermodynamics. I forgot the explanation about an hour. I did not understand it. I still don't, and I've graduated from IIT Kharagpur. But that was the genius of that man. Sitikanth Kashyap.
