After the first two exams of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Class 12 examinations 2014, more than 200 students have been expelled after being caught cheating. Parents and guardians involved in helping the students cheat have been arrested. Teachers at the exam centres and even few policemen have been seen helping the students.
The first exam for Class 12 was held on February 15, 2014 for Biology, Entrepreneurship, Philosophy and R B Hindi. The second exam was held on February 17, 2014 for Language subjects (for Arts Stream students) and Computer Science, Multi Media and Web Technology, Foundation course.
Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) chairman Rajmani Prasad said that the students were expelled after they were caught cheating during the exam.
"The board has instructed officials concerned to take action for free and fair exam," he said.
An official said that nearly 50 students were expelled last Saturday, the first day of exam.
As many as 159 students were expelled on Monday and nearly half a dozen were expelled on Tuesday.
The intermediate (Class 12th) exam began at 882 centres amid tight security and indefinite strike by non-teaching employees of colleges in the state.
"The students were expelled on charges of adopting unfair means and a dozen parents or guardians were arrested for abetment," the official said.
This year 981,778 students, including an all time high of 410,662 girl students, across Bihar appeared for the Class 12th exams, board officials said.
The BSEB, which conducts the examinations, said it has made elaborate arrangements for peaceful and fair exams.
But there were reports of widespread cheating from Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Patna, Jehanabad and Bhagalpur.

The Most Brilliant Students of Kota Ever

Anuj Nagpal(AIR 190):  This guy was the most intelligent person I ever met. In hostel, he was one of the most fun loving guys, he only used to do the assignments of mathematics (only because it was taught to us by the director of the coaching). Shubham Tulsiani says This is quite a common practice among institutes so I would like to address the trends too apart from the personal experiences and I'll also write on one aspect the question didn't explicitly ask  - offers  before  JEE Pre-JEE (class 12th) I had a couple of 'offers' - Some people from Akash Institute came over to my place to 'gift' me books to help me prepare for JEE. All I had to do was - guess what - yes, sign a form ! I was amazed at how insistent they were and despite me saying I didnt need the books and wouldn't sign,  they made me keep the books. They then visited / called me about 5 more times to get my signature (until I finally returned the unused books on their last visit and told my hostel guard to not allow them back).
