IIT-JEE 2013: CBSE will not publish answer key for JEE (Mains)

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declined to publish answer keys to JEE (Mains) 2013.
The decision not to publish answer keys for JEE (Mains) was announced on May 13. CBSE had met on May 9 to decide whether answer keys would be published.
The decision comes as a blow to students.
Answer keys have been published by various coaching centres across the country.
Some students who had taken JEE (Mains) stated that they should have been awarded higher marks. They were hoping that the CBSE answer keys would provide some relief.
The CBSE chairperson, Vineet Joshi, has been reported as saying that there is a facility for students to ask their queries on the JEE Mains site. Students are also able to send an email about their queries. Although 700 students have sent emails, most felt that more should be done.
CBSE's decision not to release answer keys also has implications for students in Class X, XI and XII who are studying for the exam. These students claim that they may not be able to prepare as well as they are unsure of the answers.
