IIT ADVANCE RESULTS DECLARED (part 1)

Professor Phalguni Gupta, JEE Chairman, IIT-Kanpur said that out of 1,26,000 students who had appeared in JEE Advanced in the country, 21,110 students could manage to qualify out of which 2,392 are female students. He said that successful students will take part in online counselling commencing from Saturday. This counselling will go on till June 30 and first seat allotment to the students will be done on July 2. The document verification work ofstudents will start from July 4and end on July 8. During these dates counselling of allcategories of students will bedone on different dates.
He also informed that out of 15,288 students who had registered for JEE Advanced in IIT-Kanpur zone, 14,500 has appeared in the exam. Only 1,829 students includingall categories could manage to crack the JEE Advanced in IIT-Kanpur zone.
He further added that the cut-off for JEE Advanced thisyear is 156 marks. Students having scored 156 marks and above have been declared successful.
According to JEE office of IIT-Kanpur in General category 36 students from IIT-Madras zone have found place in the list of top 100 successful students followed by IIT-Kanpur zone from where 25 students have reserved their place. These two IITs are followed by IIT-Delhi zone from where 17 students are in top 100 list of the successful students. IIT-Kanpur is on the fourth spot with only six students intop 100 followed by IIT-Roorkee with five students and IIT-Guhawati with only one student. This shows that the students of IIT-Madras zone have given best performance in the country in JEE Advanced results. IIT-Kanpur zone lagsmuch behind IIT-Madras, IIT-Bombay and IIT-Delhi zones. The JEE office of IIT-Kanpur was still compiling the results at the time of filling the report.
