VITEEE 2014: Preparation Strategy

Vellore Institute of Technology is one of the leading technical institutes of the country. Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE ) is an entrance exam for admission to bachelor engineering courses in Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).
VITEEE will be conducted online through April 9 to April 20.
A multiple choice question has duration of two hour and thirty minutes. The test consisting of objective type multiple choice questions is segregated into three parts:
  •  Part I: Physics
  •  Part II: Chemistry
  •  Part III: Mathematics
Each part carries 40 questions for one mark each, totaling it to 120 marks.
 Although the question paper is set based on the Class 12 Board Exam level and board exam examinees are already a step ahead, preparing for a completely objective online entrance exam is different and tougher.
Education today have shortlisted a few tips and tricks to ace VITEEE 2014
  • NCERT books are considered to be great help for entrance exam aspirant. Use NCERT text books for Class 11 and Class 12 for all the four subjects evaluated in exam to get your concepts right.

  • Try to complete your text books first whichever board you belong to.The VITEE syllabus of Class 11 and Class 12 contributes about 45 per cent and 55 per cent of the VITEEE question papers, respectively.

  • Practice solving model question papers with a stop clock. Try to attempt for all the questions within a fixed time.

  • Develop your thinking skills that will help enhance and master analytical skills with conceptual understanding.

  • VITEEE paper has no negative marking. So you are free to try your luck and attempt as many question as possible keeping the factor of time management in mind.

  • Do not waste time on a particular question if you are unable to solve it. Move to the next question and try to solve easy questions rather than focusing and spending more time on solving more difficult question. Judge the question to know the difficulty level.

  • Make short notes and keep it handy. Make a schedule and study accordingly to avoid last minute rush of completing the syllabus.

  • Last year question papers are available online. Entrance papers for other exams are even useful. Try solving as many question banks as you can.

Electrostatics,  Effects of Electric Current, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Induction and semiconductor devices.
Topics under Maths
Integral Calculus and its Applications , Analytical Geometry of Three Dimensions , Vector Algebra.
Topics under Chemistry
Electrochemistry, Organic Nitrogen Compounds, Atomic Structure, Alcohols and Ethers, Biomolecules
