IIT-JEE 2014: Top 4 misunderstandings


Staying up at night may not be very helpful as it damages your sleep routine and health.
Reality: Inadequate sleep can also have negative impact on your retention capacity.  Instead it would be better if you prepare a schedule where you get up early in the morning and allot that time for self study.

Many students and even parents believe that once you have enrolled yourself for a coaching class, half your work is done and you can be assured that you will get into IIT.
Reality: Even if you have enrolled in the best of coaching class, all they can provide is quality coaching, study material and mock tests, but reading and understanding the study material, studying regularly with dedication and practicing mock tests is totally under your control and that is what affects your performance on the entrance.

Many engineering aspirants believe that IIT is the only institute available which can make their future bright.
There have been cases of students reaching the extent of committing suicide because they were unable to get into IIT.
Reality: While IIT is definitely one of the best institutes, there are plenty of good institutes across the country offering engineering that also have good teachers and placements.
Choosing an institute depends on your abilities and interests.
So, do not be disheartened if you are not able to clear your JEE exam.
There are many other good engineering colleges in India where you can study the specialization of your choice, get good grades and be quickly placed in good companies.
