More than 85 from Bokaro crack IIT test
Of the 400 students who had qualified for IIT
(Main) this year, more than 85 have cracked its advanced level entrance
test from the district. The number of successful candidates is likely
to go up as many schools and coaching institutes are in the process of
assessing the IIT (Advanced) results.
Like the previous years, students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Delhi Public School (DPS), enjoyed the lion's share of successful students in the district. Chinmaya Vidyalaya established its supremacy with 39 students cracking the examination out of 161 who qualified for the Main. Principal Ashok Singh said, "Around 25% of our students who appeared in the Advanced test got selected."
Advisor DPS Hemlata S Mohan said 23 students cracked the test. As many as 125 students from the school had passed the IIT (Main) exams. Five students from schools run by Bokaro Steel Plant have also cracked the exam.
Apart from them, five students from Sree Ayyappa Vidyalaya, four from Guru Gobind Singh Public School (GGPS) and three students from DAV Public School, Sector-IV also got selected. Coaching centres are also claiming that many of their candidates have cracked the exams with a good rank. Majority of the successful candidates, which are trained by coaching institutes, are students of the schools mentioned earlier in the story.
